Antoni Maiovvi - Deathgames (Red Shell)

£11.00
Man of many musical aliases Antoni Maiovvi sticks with his Italian Giallo movie inspired moniker for new album release ‘Deathgames’ on Spun Out Of Control, the cinematic music label Electronic Sound magazine describes as ‘pioneering’.
Involving synthesizers, drum machines, a piano, a 12-string guitar and even alto and tenor sax, Antoni’s album rewinds back to the grimy New York streets of the 1970s and 1980s, specifically its ‘grindhouse’ movie theatre district of 42nd Street, which would show lurid slasher films and the latest thriller chillers.
Antoni Maiovvi sets the scene for his 10 cinematic cues:
“After the success of his debut 'Stealer' and the relative failure of his follow up 'The Great Tower', soon to be legendary director Mikkel Mannheimer needed a hit, eventually finding it in the now cult horror classic 'Deathgames'.
Set against the backdrop of a grimy, sleazy 1980s New York, Deathgames follows savant ex-profiler turned true crime writer Gil Wrexham, as he finds himself dug far too deep in an active case. At each turn the equally clever killer is slowly making all clues point towards Gil.
Does he have time to stop this maniac before the NYPD catches up with him? And can he rely on the information given to him by the man he once helped to put away? Deathgames... where it’s no longer just a game.”
With exclusive Eric Adrian Lee cover art, ‘Deathgames’ is available on hand numbered cassette with download code. Choose ‘Screaming Skull’ Bone colour cassette shell or opt for ‘Big Apple Bloodbath’ red. Catalogue number: SOS 070
