Kingston University Stylophone Orchestra – Stylophonika (Swirl Vinyl)
-
£20.00
An album that salutes the pioneers of electronic music with some essential cover versions, plus adds a plethora of new compositions, ‘Stylophonika’ by the Kingston University Stylophone Orchestra explores and expands on the possibilities of that little plastic gizmo famously used on Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’.
Co-produced by Orchestra leader and Senior Music Lecturer Leah Kardos and the legendary Tony Visconti, and recorded at Visconti Studio on the University campus, the album features Music Tech students and staff, current and past.
Released on two hand-numbered colour vinyl variants – choose from Protein Pills Purple vinyl, referencing Space Oddity, or Cosmic Swirl Pink & Blue vinyl (250 copies of each, digital download included) – cover art is provided by Eric Adrian Lee.
