The sign reads 69th Street and Madison Avenue, but the titular Meeting on 69th Street really takes place at a dilapidated two-story flat on Staten Island, as Sylvia, Dawn, and Lana plan to set up their whorehouse just three miles from a naval base.

Fresh from a bust in Florida which got them three months in a "detention home," these broads are what guys named Guido would call "lookers" - big hair, thick eye shadow, the works. Thoroughly sixties chick, they whip their new brothel into shape in no time, all the while dancing around in their frilly underwear and chatting about how swell it is to be able to hump for a living

On opening night, three sailors pay them a visit: shy and nervous Big Bill, scrawny and doltish Wendell, and short and beefy wiseacre Spots. "oh, baby, I could do terrible thing to you, grrrrrrrr," Spots growls at blonde walnut-titted Dawn as she strips fo him. (See Spots. See Spots growl. Growl, Spots, growl.)

Wendell, meanwhile, is getting the full treatment from Lana in another room. "I like the way you're put together," he tells her as she binds his hands and pokes around his boxer shorts. But Big Bill hangs fire, while Madame Sylvia administers some therapy. "You think just because I'm in the navy, I'll do anything," he complains. He's got the jitters, you see. "I don't do it well!" he finally admits to her. But oddly understanding Sylvia eventual brings out the beast in Bill. As a result, he falls in love with her and presents her with an engagement ring and a moral dilemma - to keep on hooking or to settle down with Bill.

More disturbing than that, however, is how mush these sailors like to watch each other fuck. They're constantly dropping in on one another, mid-screwing, and admiring each other's technique. Obviously, they've been cooped up together at sea waaaay too long...

Not quite On the Town. Another Cosmos Film epic, and once upon a time shown exclusively to all us eager perverts at New York's Capri theater on 8th Avenue off Times Square. Our favorite moment, however, is the guest appearance by GERI MILLER as Misty, a high-haired dancer in white go-go boots, who suddenly shows up in Wendell and Lana's bedroom and climbs in the sack with them: "Hope I'm not too late to join the fun!" Though she occasionally appeared in a skinflick, Miss Miller is best known for her scenes with Joe Dallesandro in two Andy Warhol / Paul Morissey classics, Flesh (1968) and Trash (1970). We agree with Wendell: "What a Groovy chick!" From the 35mm hooker-happy negative. #3859 - Handsome Harry Archer
