Here's an extremely obscure Euro Spy film from the sixties! This gem begins with the death of a mysterious femal agent (Janine Reynaud), carrying secret microfilm inthe heels of he shoes. We begin with a down and out writer (Christopher Logan) who's visited by an old acquaintance, a secret agent, who offers him twenty thousand dollars to impersonate an Italian criminal ties to a ruthless international criminal organization.
The writer services a horde of curvaceous beauties while he plays the part of a suave, devil-may-care, but deadly killer. Unfortunately, the man he's impersonating has been suspected as being a possible spy himself, for antoher organization, and selected for eventual extermination. The writer is sent on a mission to Istanbul, and falls for the lover of the man he's been assigned to become. Things take a turn for the worse when he discovers that his agent friend has set himup in a grand revenge scheme,. which he may not make it out of...alive.
An entertaining, but convoluted thriller with spare sets, dialogue, and directed by someone who seems to worship the cinema of American exploitation pioneer, Doris Wishman; with it's numberous point-of-view shots of people sunbathing, a walking up stairs, approaching doors, and endlessly walking around! From a 16mm print.
