Come Blow the Horn! (Fäbodjäntan)
-
£23.00
The country girl Monika has found an old Viking horn. When you blow it, women inexplicably go wild with desire. This causes trouble on the farm where she lives, not least for the prudish, visiting missionary couple. Everyone does it with everyone. All filmed in the idyllic rural village Skattungbyn in Dalarna, Sweden.
Director Joseph W Sarno (1921-2010), is recognized as one of the true geniuses of exploitation film and has been celebrated with retrospectives at the prestigious film festivals. Sarno made over 125 films, of which about fifteen were made in Sweden, the first one in 1967.
His black and white nudie films in the 1960s earned him the epithet “The Ingmar Bergman of 42nd Street”. Sarno and his wife, muse and jack-of-all-trades Peggy became enamored with Sweden. They had an apartment in a Stockholm suburb an visited Sweden every summer.
Experience the film that shocked, amused and became a part of Sweden's cultural DNA.
Newly restored in 4Kfrom the surviving 35mm print.
