Drive-In Asylum #05

The October issue of Drive-In Asylum has arrived! It's the month of Halloween, and this issue has plenty of Halloween spirit--we even put a bat on the cover! Well OK, it's really a man-bat, but that counts, right? It's the star of 1974's "The Bat People" to be exact, and you'll find an in-depth review that highlights the misunderstood movie's romantic side that was downplayed in the film's marketing. Bradley Steele Harding contributes a list of movies that are great to watch in the Halloween season, and Victor Leroi continues his series of reviews examining films that were banned on home video as obscene "Video Nasties" in the UK. Mike Haushalter from zine "Secret Scroll Digest" contributes some capsule reviews, and we've got plenty of those newsprint ads and images that you expect from Drive-In Asylum. This month's ad features include galleries of Halloween-themed festivals and screenings, ghost stories, ads that market films using "borrowed" artwork from other ad campaigns, the horror films of Oliver Reed, and the return of our "Also Known As" feature that highlights movies masquerading under alternate titles.
