Drive-In Asylum - Special #05

Drive-In Asylum's fifth Special is dedicated to our favorite TV horror hosts! Join us as we remember local hosts who helped develop our appreciation for all things spooky, as well as several who are still continuing the tradition. There are essays about Dr. Shock (out of Chattanooga), trend-setting icon Vampira, Bill Cardille and "Chiller Theatre", Ghost Host, The Ghoul, Dr. Paul Bearer, The Fearmonger, Count Scary, and Ghoulardi, as well as ads and promotional images pertaining to other local hosts and movie slots who were programmed on various TV stations around the country.

You'll also read exclusive interviews with current hosts Vincent Van Dahl, Mr. Livingston and Tangella from "Creature Features"; the duo known as The Management, who host internet program "New Castle After Dark"; and a very special chat with Count Gregore from Oklahoma, whose career as a horror host spans several decades.

Another special guest is Unkle Spooky, a newer host with a classic look who organizes live screenings (when those kinds of things are actually happening, that is), and who is currently screening horror movies via Zoom meetings. Unkle Spooky delivers our Guest List column for this issue, sharing his top 5 scary films that give him the willies.
