The Prophet 5 synthesizer has been dusted off for a second entry in Belgian composer Jan Borré’s huge sounding series of albums inspired by the mother of Star Trek’s Mr Spock, the all too human Amanda Grayson. 10 cienmat
Following 2019’s sold out ‘Grayson’ album ‘Grayson II: Sands of Praconia’ fleshes out Amanda’s story further, accompanied by an epic electronic soundtrack that’s more Vangelis than Zimmer. This time we find Grayson caught between warring factions on the fiery desert planet of Praconia.
Jan Borré sets the scene for his 10 cinematic cues:
“Praconia, a remote planet caught in a bitter dispute. The Ozmi seek to exploit its resources, while the nomadic Prakans claim it as their ancestral home. But the planet hides a secret beneath its surface.
After an archaeological team uncovers evidence supporting the Prakan cause, Earth sends Amanda Grayson as a mediator. As she grows closer to the enigmatic archaeologist Prim, the mysteries surrounding the planet's strange ecosystem begin to unravel. With tensions mounting, Amanda must navigate hidden truths about Praconia's past - and what it means for its future - before it’s too late.”
With specially commissioned cover and j-card art by label regular Eric Adrian Lee, Jan Borré’s ‘Grayson II: Sands of Praconia’ is available on two different limited-edition hand-numbered colour cassette shells to match the artwork. Choose from Fiery Orange Orb shell or go for the silver Amanda Grayson’s Tears. Catalogue number: SOS 068.
