Desire First Sex Experience

Young Nicole is reading a pornographic novel written by her uncle Rune. The story follows Annika, a university student whose sexual awakening begins after being abducted and abused by two delinquent bikers. This traumatic experience triggers Annikaʼs exploration of her own desires, leading her to masturbation and lesbian encounters. As Nicole becomes absorbed in Annikaʼs story, she too begins to awaken sexually.

The film mixes dreamlike erotic sequences with free form jazz, 8mm porn projected onto panties, and lounge-style covers of Led Zeppelinʼs Immigrant Song, Black Sabbathʼs Paranoid and The Beatlesʼ Eleanor Rigby.

Nicole is portrayed by Cia Löwgren, known from sexploitation movies like Swedish Wildcats (1972), Do You Believe in Swedish Sin? (1971), and the Danish sex comedy In the Sign of the Gemini (1975).

Forest of Beastly Desire

The gradual downfall and eventual demise of the beautiful, but troubled Mamy. Mamy is in love with André. He has to go away for a long time, but promises to return to her. But Mamy throws herself into an unhappy marriage with the lawyer Börje, whose best friend Michel makes advances towards Mamy. Michel's young girlfriend Linda seduces Börje. When Börje goes away, Michel sees his chance to conquer Mamy, with disastrous consequences. The film opens with the popular hit Mamy Blue playing over the titles, and also features music by the legendary German krautrock band Amon Düül II.

Lisbeth Lindeborg, who plays Mamy, did centerfolds in menʼs magazines such as Fib Aktuellt, Lektyr, and Mayfair. She also appeared in Mac Ahlbergʼs film I – a Marquis (1967). Following her role in the Nikkatsu production, Lindeborg left the film industry and later built a career as a political scientist in Germany.

Agony of the Shadow Beast

A young virgin is seduced by her boyfriend outdoors, but their encounter is violently interrupted by a creepy guy who attacks them. The boyfriend runs away, and she is violated. Disoriented, she staggers into the road, where she is saved by the charismatic C Bronson and his chauffeur. When the woman wakes up, she finds herself naked and locked away by Bronson, who is running an illegal brothel.

In his mansion, naked women dance frenetically to jazz-rock as men look on and select their companions. Gradually, Bronson manipulates the young woman into becoming one of his prostitutes. In a cruel twist, her ex-boyfriend eventually resurfaces at the brothel, and gets thoroughly humiliated.

Blonde Animal

A young loving couple falls prey to an older husband and wife vacationing in Stockholm in search of sexual adventure. The characters spend much of their time strolling through the city, taking in its famous sights, going to discos — or engaging in sexual encounters, often still in their underwear, yet appearing to enjoy themselves to the fullest. An interesting case of Japanese censorship.

Anette Arvidsson also appeared in the Nikkatsu film Drops of Honey (1973), as well as in exploitation titles like Torgny Wickman’s Eva – the Outcast and Joe Sarno’s To Ingrid, My Love, Lisa (1968). Jim Steffe was later featured in Swedish erotic films, like Mac Ahlberg’s Second Coming of Eva (1974) and Justine & Juliette (1975), and in Torgny Wickman’s The Intruders (1974).

House of the Beast

Three escaped convicts rob a gun shop in Stockholm before heading into the countryside, where one of them has hidden a stash of money. They seek refuge in an old manor and take the owners hostage. But the family that lives there proves to be both bizarre and depraved. Soon, everyone is entangled with everyone else, sexually and otherwise, until all boundaries collapse and it becomes unclear who truly holds power inside the manor.

Per-Axel Arosenius also appeared in exploitation titles like Thriller – A Cruel Picture (1973), Maid in Sweden (1971), Wide Open (1974) and Fear Has 1,000 Eyes (1970) — as well as Hitchcock’s Topaz (1969). Lasse Lundberg, an editor and film producer, acted in films like Anita – Swedish Nymphet (1973) and The Language of Love (1969). Inger Sundh and Britten Larsson were familiar names in Swedish sexploitation, with roles in Dagmar’s Hot Pants, Inc. (1971), Eva – the Outcast (1969) and Anita – Swedish Nymphet. The director Shogoro Nishimura made 85 Roman Poruno films for Nikkatsu between 1971 and 1987.

Drops of Honey

The atmospheric, tragic and melodramatic story of an ice hockey player who becomes obsessed with a mysterious red-haired woman with a dark secret.

The hockey player Allan has problems with his frigid wife. After a match, he is turned on by the mysterious Eva. After a night of lovemaking, they are separated. Allan eventually ends up at a sex club, where his wife is making out with his best friend. Eva performs in a live sex show, wearing only a pair of enormous swan wings. Allan is enchanted by Eva and begins to desperately search for her. This is Nikkatsu's profound "Bergman film", with several Ingmar Bergman-like tropes.

Solveig Andersson had roles in Thriller – a Cruel Picture (1973), Eva – the Outcast (1969) and Fear has 1000 eyes (1970). Anette Arvidsson was in Nikkatsu's Blonde Animal (1971),and Joe Sarno's To Ingrid, My Love, Lisa (1968). Peder Kinberg had roles in Sarno's Swedish Wildcats (1972) and Arne Mattsson's Dirty Fingers (1973). Egil Holmsen was an industry veteran, known for his juvenile delinquent films in the 1950s. Director Akira Kato made around 40 films for Nikkatsu from 1971 to 1983.
