Synopsis/Write Up
Overview

Eddie Czeropski is scraping by, trying to make it as an actor in New York. His friend Donny is an actor too, although not the same kind as Eddie. Donny moonlights in adult films for the tough-as-nails director Carolyn King. While visiting Donny on set, Eddie manages to fill in for his friend when Donny fouls up a shoot. Spotting his natural talent, Carolyn makes quick use of Eddie for a score of movies. When Eddie lands a role on a soap opera, he believes his adult career will fade from the public’s memory. But with the nascent videocassette market, Carolyn sees an opportunity to exploit. When Carolyn decides to cash in on the sex films of a current daytime TV actor, how will Eddie respond? A multi award-winning meta masterpiece from writer/producer Joyce Snyder (Public Affairs, Pledge Night) and cinematographer/director Larry Revene (Wanda Whips Wall Street, Fascination), RAW TALENT combines introspective drama, outrageous action set pieces, and avant-garde editing, including subliminal imagery, to create a hardcore feature unlike anything else. Starring Jerry Butler (Star Angel) in his most acclaimed and controversial performance, along with Lisa Deleeuw (Centerspread Girls), Rhonda Jo Petty (Candy Goes to Hollywood), Joey Silvera (Climax!), and newcomer Cassandra Leigh (Playpen), this outrageous and poignant hit comes to Blu-ray from Quality X, newly restored in 4K from its 35mm camera negative, loaded with fresh extras, and completely uncut for the first time in almost 40 years.
