Rupert Lally & Benjamin Schabrun - The Whisperer In Darkness
-
£10.00
HP Lovecraft inspired electronic soundtrack from Swiss based composer Rupert Lally is debut collaboration with son Benjamin Schabrun
Having previously provided a soundtrack to collective novels by horror writer Stephen King for the label Spun Out Of Control, composer Rupert Lally follows up with a soundtrack album inspired by HP Lovecraft’s novella ‘The Whisperer In Darkness’, from which this collection of eerie cinematic electronica takes its own name.
For the first time here, Lally is collaborating with musician son Benjamin Schabrun, aged 13 at the time recording commenced, and still only 16 at the time of writing. A surprisingly mature sounding collection of tracks, this one will appeal to fans of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ film scores and Clint Mansell’s soundtrack for ’Moon’.
Released on Spun Out Of Control as a uniquely fitting phosphorescent glow-in-the-dark cassette shell – the artwork for The Whisperer In Darkness is by series regular Eric Adrian Lee, with specially mastered audio for cassette & digital release by Nicholas Langley. Catalogue number: SOS 062
