Steve Nolan – Breathe (Glitter Shell)
-
£11.00
Following numerous albums for the electronic artist and soundtrack composer championing Spun Out Of Control label since 2016 – including horror film scores Sodium Party and Bring Out The Fear – Irish composer and former industrial rock artist Steve Nolan returns with the epic ‘Breathe’.
This is Nolan’s score for Liza Hughes documentary film ‘Swimming Through Darkness’, retitled Breathe for this physical and digital album release.
Sounding like a collaboration between Michael Nyman and Nine Inch Nails – enhanced with Nolan’s signature synthesizer washes and moody piano motifs – the album proves definitively that strong emotion can be wrung from machines built to make music.
With waves of sound ebbing and flowing like the ocean itself, the cinematic score builds with pulsating synth pads and droplet-like piano notes, framing the thematic events of the film, which include moonlit swimming.
As surf pounds the north coast of Ireland in the coldest, darkest months of the year we’re reminded to embrace life and… breathe.
With specially commissioned cover and j-card art by Eric Adrian Lee, Steve Nolan’s ‘Breathe’ is available on two different limited-edition hand-numbered colour cassette shells to match the artwork and the movie’s themes.
Choose from Moonlight Sparkle glitter shell or go for translucent Midnight Blue. Catalogue number: SOS 067.
