Having recently relocated his family from a cramped apartment in Tokyo, to a spacious suburban home, Katsuhiko Kobayashi is hellbent on keeping his picture-perfect idea of middle-class success alive. But, when the new house suddenly begins to rot from the inside, Katsuhiko’s mind deteriorates with it and his family soon join him in their own rapid descent into madness. All notions of what it means to be a normal family are dropped into a blender and warped to hell in Gakuryū Ishii’s classic 1984 deconstruction of the nuclear household, THE CRAZY FAMILY.

THE CRAZY FAMILY comes from Gakuryū Ishii, one of Japan’s leading filmmaking punk visionaries, who aided in the creation of his country’s own cyberpunk movement. Error 4444 is proud to present this uproarious dark comedy classic on Blu Ray for the first time in the United States.
