Irina is a teacher in the middle of a
messy divorce with her husband, Roberto, who has cunningly stolen the
pharmaceutical company she was set to inherit. She's also dealing with a
rat problem. A rat so large and terrible it has mutilated her dog.
Enlisting the help of her new love interest and biologist friend, Axel,
they soon discover that Roberto has been recklessly dumping nuclear
waste to get ahead and wreaking havoc on the nearby wildlife. Now Irina
has to contend with a mutated rat in her home and her soon-to-be ex who
will do anything to keep his secret.
In one of his last horror films, director Rubén Galindo Jr. (DON'T PANIC, CEMETERY OF TERROR) delivers a vision of an apocalyptic near-future Mexico, where the environment has become a wasteland.
